Compatible grinders for these burrs
What is that? The Timemore Chestnut C3 ESP Pro hand grinder is a compact, all-metal hand grinder for coffee lovers who are often on the go but don't want to compromise on precise grinding. It fits in a backpack and is robust enough for everyday use at home.
The grinder: Inside is the patented S2C (Spike-to-Cut) 38 mm conical burr grinder made of stainless steel. The design first pierces the bean and then cuts it – this reduces overheating and ensures a more even particle distribution. The millimeter-precise clicks (approx. 0.0233 mm per click) allow for fine adjustments, especially for espresso and fine filter settings.
Craftsmanship & Design: A solid aluminum unibody, a grippy grooved surface, and a foldable metal handle with ball bearings ensure stable and comfortable handling. A silicone pad on the bottom prevents slipping and protects the work surface. The grinder weighs approximately 530 g and holds around 20–25 g of beans.
Practice: The C3 ESP Pro delivers results suitable for both espresso and common filter methods. (V60, Pour-Over, Travel-Setups) produces a very consistent grind. It's suitable for espresso, but requires more work and takes longer to grind than electric grinders when using very fine settings and light roasts.
Care: Unscrew the adjusting nut completely, pull out the central shaft, and clean it with a brush or dry cloth. If necessary, you can disassemble the grinder according to the instructions and rinse it briefly under running water, then dry it thoroughly. Reassembly is quick and easy in reverse order.
Conclusion: Anyone looking for a high-quality, precise and portable grinder – especially for filter coffee and travel – will find the C3 ESP Pro to be a very good package.
